Our course helps you identify a product or service from your own personal skills, hobbies or interests that you can turn into a money making business. Then we’ll show you how and help you to prepare a financial plan to ensure that the business will be profitable, Show you how to access the funds and equipment you will need to set the business up, draw up a business plan, a marketing plan and create marketing materials. We’ll teach you about presenting your business idea and get you on the road to success. Not only that, but it’s fun – no schoolroom techniques here, we’re all on the same wavelength – in the business world you don’t have to do what the teacher tells you, in fact there is no teacher to tell you what to do so you get to think and make decisions for yourself. The Game of Business – Start young and they’ll never look back! 1 ½ hour modules for grades 5, 6 & 7 This is for the youngsters! Choose from several modules that allow pupils to explore the world of business in a fun, practical and cross-curricular way. The Game of Business promotes children’s creative thinking skills and encourages pupils to develop life long personal, social and entrepreneurial skills and attitudes. Through interactive activities, pupils explore the origins of trade and business and learn the importance of the law of supply and demand. Students identify enterprising skills within themselves, consider the benefits of competition in the marketplace and explore moral dilemmas that businesses face
Financial Literacy / Money Courses
3-Day Course for teenagers and young adults This dynamic three day program enables you to understand vital personal finance, saving and investing principals – knowledge that will empower you for a future of successful financial management. You learn skills in banking, budgeting and being a wise consumer, as well as how to avoid the overuse of credit. During the Smart Start to Money course you will enjoy demonstrations, games, contests and activities where you team up to create and present “virtual” investment portfolios to a panel of experts. Equipped with practical life-skills to handle money, you will make better financial decisions long after completing this program. 1-Day Workshop for students grade 8 to 12 This one day Smart Start workshop introduces you to the basic concepts of earning, saving, spending and managing money. You will enjoy a fast paced tour of the steps to financial fitness and participate in hands on activities that demonstrate the importance of wise financial planning. You will also consider the value of money and evaluate your own attitudes toward spending and saving. The workshop allows you to explore the importance of making wise money decisions while you are still young. The Game of Money – This one’s for the kids! 1 ½ hour modules for grades 5, 6 & 7 Choose from several modules that allow pupils to explore the world of money in a fun, practical and cross-curricular way. The Game of money guides students through making spending decisions, understanding the value of money and discovering the benefits of saving. Students also study the impact of advertising, learn about savings accounts and practise comparing product prices. Through teamwork and problem solving they learn to use financial terms correctly and recognise the impact money has on their lives.
